Darien's Nick Lombardo makes the winning touchdown catch Saturday against Trinity Catholic.

Nick Lombardo of the Darien football team and Maddie Rusch of the New Canaan girls swimming team are the BlueStreak-Overtime FCIAC Players of the Week.

Lombardo and Rusch will each receive T-shirts and plaques from BlueStreak Sports Training.

Lombardo outjumped two defenders to catch a 35-yard touchdown pass with seven seconds left to lift the Blue Wave to a 26-20 win over unbeaten Trinity Catholic.

Rusch set a league record in the 50-freestyle at the FCIAC championships with a time of 23.88. It is the fourth year in a row Rusch has won the event, which is believed to be a conference record.
