Schadrac Casimir of the Trinity Catholic boys basketball team, Roy Kane Jr. of the Norwalk boys basketball team, Nick Jimenez of the Westhill wrestling team and Catherine Granito of the New Canaan girls hockey team are the BlueStreak-Overtime FCIAC Players of the Week.
We are giving out two extra awards this week since we canceled the Overtime Team of the Week vote.
Casimir, Kane, Jimenez and Granito will each receive T-shirts and plaques from BlueStreak Sports Training.
Casimir scored 50 points — one short of the school record — in a win over Greenwich and added 26 in a victory against Bridgeport Central.
Kane finished with 23 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocks in a win over Brien McMahon and 26 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks in a victory against Danbury.
Jimenez went 5-0 — winning four matches by pin and the other by a major decision — and was named the Outstanding Wrestler as the Vikings won the Shelton Invitational Tournament.
Granito, a freshman, had 2 goals and 1 assist in an 8-1 win over Trumbull and 3 goals and 2 assists in a 7-0 victory over Fairfield.
