  1. Yet another schizophrenic, wildly inconsistent performance by Sydney Johnson’s Stags. And another game tacked on to the loss column in this brutally disappointing season.

Guaranteed we will read and hear the same drivel from Sydney in subsequent interviews, trying to explain why approaching February this team lacks chemistry, cohesion, and even passion and energy.(Hard to expect the kids to show passion when their coach evidences little during games.)

Johnson has done so little with so much talent and experience on his roster, while Ed Cooley has gotten a lot of a Providence squad low on numbers, experience and talent (in an elite conference). We miss you Ed!

  2. I attended the Iona game and Syd needs to go back to Princeton.
He is the worst Fairfield coach ever. Von Arx hired him because they are Princeton grads. Syd is waaaaay over his head in the MAAC. Cluess, Patos, Mitch run circles around him. So does the rookie Massiello at Manhattan. Cooley would of stopped all this nonsense with Needham’s chucking and Rakim ‘I’ll only play hard when I want to” Sanders. It’s great when Siena comes to visit because you’ll have Mitch, Terry OC, O’Toole and DeSantis in the house and they must all laugh at Syd. Even Gene Doris was a better basketball coach when he was at Stepanic High School. Heck, Pat Yerina is a better basketball coach than Cerebral Syd!
