Crawford will not play for Stags next year

|

Guard Sean Crawford will not return for a fifth season with the Fairfield men’s basketball, a team source confirmed on Monday night. Crawford, who is expected to graduate from Fairfield, will be allowed to transfer to another school and have one year of eligibility remaining.

Crawford is the third Stag to leave the team after the season, with freshman Adam Jones and sophomore Jamel Fields deciding to transfer.  With all three players leaving, Sydney Johnson has two open spots on his 2012-13 roster. Fairfield already has four freshmen coming in that signed Letters of Intent along with possibly guard Keegan Hyland, who sat out last season after transferring from Vermont/Gonzaga. Hyland has battled multiple injury problems, did not practice with the team this past season and remains a question mark.

Johnson was not available for comment Monday night.
