Center Cole Walton has signed a Letter of Intent to play basketball at Sacred Heart University next season.
The 6-foot-11 Walton attended high school in Bellevue, Wash. and reportedly turned down Seattle University to play for the Pioneers.
“We are very excited to have Cole join our program and university,” SHU coach Dave Bike said in a press release Thursday. “With his size and athleticism, we believe he has a chance to be a special player for our program. He is a high character person and an excellent student and will be a great addition to our university community.”
Bike has found success with several players from Washington in recent years, including guard Tavio Hobson and forwards Joey Henley and Brice Brooks.
According to an ESPN scouting report on Walton: he has a willowy frame with long arms and good hands. He does a solid job rebounding despite his slight frame and he has decent timing on the defensive end. He has a solid touch out to 12-feet and his release is fairly smooth.
