Henry playing in US Open

Here is the Connecticut Post’s story announcing that Fairfield-native J.J. Henry will be in as an alternate for the US Open, which starts on Thursday at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md.

Henry has not made the cut in the US Open since 2007 when he finished tied for 26th. That was Henry’s best finish at the Open, and his best at a major.

We’ll be following Henry’s rounds all weekend long, and will follow up with him as he makes his return to Connecticut for next week’s Travelers Championship.

For those of you unaware, there’s a pretty big game in Fairfield today.

Ludlowe will meet Warde in softball at 4 p.m. with a trip to the Class LL semifinals on the line.

But there are two other games being played this weekend.

Wednesday-Thursday state playoff schedule

We now know a lot more about the state playoffs than we did yesterday.

All four baseball teams in Fairfield were eliminated in the opening round on Tuesday. Those four teams were the only teams ousted on Tuesday.

But today is Wednesday.
