Fairfield American is the two-time defending champion of Connecticut’s District 2.
Yet, Fairfield National has some unfinished business from last year.
National came three outs from the district championship, yet a ginormous sixth-inning lifted American and spearheaded its run to the state championship and regional semis.
We’re less than two weeks from the Little League season’s kickoff, and here are both American and National’s schedules.
All games are played at Blackham School in Bridgeport. All times are p.m., except where noted.
June 27, vs. Easton, 5:30
June 30, vs. Monroe, 1
July 3, vs. Redding, 5:30
July 7, vs. Trumbull American, 5:30

June 30, vs. Westport, 10 a.m.

Four teams will advance from pool play and reach the semifinals. Semis will be double elimination. The last possible day to complete the district tournament is July 15.
Little League softball will begin June 25 too. There is just one Fairfield program, but it was New England champion last year.
Again, all times are p.m. Games will be played at Unity Park in Trumbull.
