Three hockey teams still alive…

… At least for the time being.

Fairfield Prep has a Division I bye until Saturday– the Jesuits will play either Glastonbury or Hamden– and Fairfield co-op claimed an impressive 3-2 upset of Watertown-Pomperaug on Tuesday evening.

Fairfield will now venture to Branford, Ingalls Rink Friday, for the Division II quarters. Fairfield will play at New Haven’s “Yale Whale”  for the first time since 2008.

ND will trek to Simsbury, Wednesday at 7 p.m. Should the Lancers upset Simsbury, they’ll have to face ND-West Haven on Saturday.

Speaking of hockey, if you missed my full-length feature on Stone Denbok, it is here.

Denbok’s taken the state hockey world by storm. He has a 2.33 goals-against average and .921 save percentage in 16 starts, averaging 30 saves in those games.
