Wealthy, self-funded Republican U.S. Senate candidate Linda McMahon’s campaign tonight released yet another new advertisement, this one in Spanish.

McMahon has been all over television, radio and in mailboxes this summer, so it is fitting that she is beginning the post-Labor Day campaign season by moving on to Spanish-language advertisements.

And to my Spanish friends, mi más sentido pésame. Now you’ll know what it’s like.

Although I must say I enjoy the narrator’s pronunciation of McMahon’s name – “Leenda” – and may just start addressing her that way myself. It’s so much more fun to say.

The ad is a nice bit of outreach and yet another sign of the resources at McMahon’s command and her campaign’s willingness to do whatever it takes to beat Democratic nominee Richard Blumenthal in November.

The ad does not mention McMahon’s party affiliation, describing her instead as “independent, not a politician.” Blumenthal has been state attorney general for the past 20 years.

“Alguien Diferente”
