Cafero gives Jackson Labs suit an earful

by:

In the below photo, House Minority Leader Lawrence Cafero, R-Norwalk discusses his concerns about Democratic Gov. Dannel Malloy’s $291 million deal to bring Jackson Laboratories to Connecticut.

Cafero’s speaking to a lab exec outside a hearing room of the Legislative Office Building in Hartford as Malloy Chief of Staff Tim Bannon looks on.

The conversation was calmer than it looks. No voices were raised. Cafero’s an emotive guy and gestures like that even when he’s not in a heated argument with someone.

The General Assembly is holding information sessions and hearings today in Hartford on the Jackson proposal, which comes up for a vote during the Oct. 26th special legislative session.

As Hearst Colleague Ken Dixon reported earlier today, the minority Republicans have some issues…

Yet another example of how out of touch our clueless Governor and his administration are when it comes to managing the state’s finances. $300M for the possibility of ~300 jobs somewhere in the distant future is a fool’s errand. If this venture is such a great idea for Jackson Labs, why aren’t they putting up their own money? Worse still is the fact that Jackson’s management let it slip that they would be recruiting many of these employees from abroad, which means that many of the jobs won’t even go to Americans – much less CT.

As long as we have tax & spend Democrats running the state, we’re doomed to watch our hard earned tax dollars being flushed down the toilet.

Will the last person employed in CT please turn out the lights…

Larry Cafero. I hope the exec doesn’t mistake him for someone people actually listen to. What a blowhard.
