Joel Stein dogs U.S. Sen. Christopher Dodd,, D-Conn., in a recent essay, lumping him in with Bo Obama, the first canine, the swine flu and Kindle owners.

    Joel Stein writes that, “Dodd will give up his Senate seat before he loses it because of some sweet deals he got from the banks he was overseeing.”

    The only problem with Stein’s essay and ranking is that those “sweet deals” Stein says Dood received from banks were not existent. Stein lied. The Ethics Committee issued an extensive report stating that Dodd didn’t get one penny of benefit from either mortgage he took out. Not one cent.

    I suppose being a reporter is like being in that old cheesy movie: It means never having to say you’re sorry- for lying.
