Malloy Will Have Waterbury Delegates at Next Week’s Democratic Convention

by:

Waterbury Democrats have voted to support Dan Malloy’s candidacy in next week’s party convention in Hartford with all 49 delegates.

“We’re with Dan because he has the best experience to help get Connecticut back on track,” said Ned Cullinan, Delegate and Democratic Town Committee Chair in a statement.  “Dan’s track record in Stamford is unmatched – he grew jobs, improved transportation, built affordable housing, and made Stamford a fantastic place to live.  And, he did it all with 14 years of consecutively balanced budgets.  That’s the kind of executive leadership we need in Hartford.”

“As a Mayor of a large city, I can appreciate the job Dan has done in Stamford,” said Mayor Mike Jarjura in the sdame statement.  “Dan not only has a vision for a better Connecticut, but he has the ability to build consensus, to work with businesses, work with labor, and work with the Legislature to get the job done.”

Malloy has been endorsed by 39 Democratic Town Committees, 50 local chairs, more than 100 elected officials and community leaders, and numerous labor organizations, in addition to the more than 4,000 individual contributors who helped Malloy qualify for the Citizens’ Elections Program, giving him access to up to $8.5 million for his primary and general election campaigns.
