McMahon Making Hay From Blumenthal Contretemps? Rasmussen Report Says Yes.

by:

A quick poll of 500 likely Connecticut voters yesterday by the Rasmusseun Poll now finds Attorney General Richard Blumenthal with only a nominal 3-point lead over Linda McMahon, well within the margin of error of 4.5 percent, compared to two weeks ago when he was up by 13 points. McMahon’s camp said today that it’s the result of the damaging New York Times story about his misstatements about his service with the Marine Corps Reserves during the Vietnam War.

The Associated Press today though, reported that the video of a Blumenthal when he claimed to have served in Vietnam, was preceeded, at the start of his speech, by Blumenthal saying that he served during the “era,” an important distinction that he laid out right away. They found the full video on the McMahon’s Youtube page.

Here’s the link to the poll.

Liberal can’t lie they can only Mis Speak. This wasn’t a one time thing Dick has been manufacturing his service record for years. I won’t vote to send another liar to DC we have enough of them there and in the White House!!!

This is exactly why we need a third party. McMahon can’t win on her accomplishments, she has to dig up dirt on her opponent. What bothers me is that no one in the State did one thing to stop the illegal taking of private property, peoples homes, in New London.

Bloomie lied. What is it about liberals? They hate the military but they all wish they were George Patton. Having said that, Bloomie has been very supportive of Connecticut GIs, more than most liberals, with the exception of Joe Lieberman. Joe’s voted for a lot of crap but there’s no doubt he loves the USA. Can’t say the same for president hussein.

I don’t live in Ct and don’t care who is running against Blumenthal. You don’t make a mistake like that. He lied. I served during the Vietnam era. We won my war–the cold war. But Blumenthal never served and does not deserve one iota of respect. You folks in Ct need to throw him out and then stomp on him. He deserves NO respect no matter how long he supposedly served your state “honorably.” He is a liar, and we do not need any more of them in the Congress.

I can’t believe how dumb the electorate is. To actually change their voting preference over this? Do these people actually believe that McMahon in all her years working behind closed doors running a business involved in the drug and scandal ridden world of pro-wrestling hasnt done or said 1000X worst? Please. How naive are you people.

Having scoured decades of this mans very public statements and actions and come up with this? Using the word “in” instead of “during”? Thats the biggest thing they could find? He never ONCE said he was in combat, never once told stories about being wounded or taking fire or even utter the words “when I was in Vietnam”.

For people to make this the deciding point in who will be the US Senator from Connecticut is down right scary.

Since when does the word “during” mean the Reserves? Only in the spin world of politics would any one try to pass off this garbage. Fortunately the Times had his clarification of his service a minute or two later that he was “in Vietnam” which is very clear to any one and several other examples of his lying about his record. What is the Blumenthal defense? He didn’i lie every time just when he wanted to and the other times he just kept his real service a little fuzzy? If he gets elected will he then correct his misplaced words during the campaign, perhaps promises will become misspoken goals. I am glad that his guilt has made him try to repay his debt to the men who actually served in Vietnam and I wish that every person who dodged the draft like him did the same but this does not give him the license to pose as a war hero ever.

Hey, I watched the entire video. Blumenthal says first that he served during the Vietnam era — but he does not say that he served domewhere else than Vietnam. Then he says he served in Vietnam. Taken together, these statements clearly are a claim to service in Vietnam. They provide no defense. It is the same as if he first said he had surgery and then later claimed to have gotten a heart transplant. The general surgery statement does not contradict the specific claim of a heart transplant.

STOP SPINNING. Blumenthal lied, we all know it, and he won’t even apologize. He is not fit to be a senator.

I have a picture of myself sitting in front of the Connecticut flag that was sent to me; I was in between missions in Viet Nam. Seven young men I went to school with in Milford never came home.

Every one from that era knows the reserves and National Guard were nothing more than safe havens for draft dodgers.

How can you trust a “jerk” who accidentally placed himself in a combat zone several times. What else will he do?
