Malloy supporters hope their “ground” forces did the job

Roy Occhiogrosso, a senior advisor to Democratic gubernatorial candidate Dan Malloy, said he’s happy Bridgeport extended voting to 10 p.m. and speculated it could be good for his candidate because some voters may see returns on television and realize that they should go vote. “If that impacts turnout, that’s good for us,” Occhiogrosso said.

Occiogrosso also said the Malloy team has the best ground operation, which means get out the vote effort, that Democrats have had in years.
“We have the best operation Connecticut has seen in a long time. Our guys did a great job getting to the polls. What they do when they get there we can’t control.”

Hundreds are now milling about Malloy headquarters here in Hartford. There isn’t much news and most are bracing for a long night.
