Welcome to the Club: Dodd to Blumenthal

Christopher Dodd, whose decision to vacate his seat at the end of his current term opened the door to Richard Blumenthal’s run for Senate, had this to say about the fellow Democrat’s victory over Linda McMahon:

“I congratulate Attorney General Blumenthal on his election.  Having known Dick for over 30 years, I have no doubts that he will be an excellent United States Senator and will represent the people and interests of Connecticut with the same vigor and passion that we have seen from him as our Attorney General.”

“It has been a great privilege and honor to represent Connecticut for the last 36 years, and I will forever be grateful for this opportunity. Our state is represented in Washington by a powerful and influential delegation that I am confident will continue to deliver for the people of Connecticut. Senator-elect Blumenthal will be a strong addition to our delegation and I look forward to working with him and helping in any way I can as he transitions into his role as our next United States Senator.”
