Environmentalists ready for Malloy

I just ran into some Environmentalists on the third floor outside the Senate Chamber.
“I think the fact that we have a governor who understood the environmental issues in Stamford and understands the concept of smart growth is a breath of fresh air,” said the president of 1000 Friends of Connecticut, a smart growth advocacy group.
“The states that really do well with smart growth are the ones with strong governors. And he is a very strong governor.”
Environmental consultant Diane Lauricella said the governor needs to assist Connecticut’s old industrial towns and cities, because they do not have the resources to recover on their own.
