Just enough horses

From reporter Tim Loh in Hartford:

Sue Merrow, an East Haddam lobbyist for a non-profit consulting firm, watched the parade standing by the arches as 30 or so horses, four marching bands and the Gov.-elect, whom she supported, walked by. Then, she made the half-mile trip to the armory in time to see the finish. “Any parade with that many horses is a hit with me,” she said. “I think just the right amount for today.”

While this is her first inagural parade, Merrow likes to take part in the opening of the legislative sessions. Commenting on the stiff budget challenges that lay ahead, she said, “At least for today we can all bask in the glow and feel good.”
