Lt. Gov. Wyman realizes she gets personal security now

During this afternoon’s swearing-in of new Governor Dannel Malloy, Lt. Governor/outgoing state Comptroller Nancy Wyman told the audience gathered at the State Armory in Hartford her door is always open, “if they let you in.”

“Didn’t know about having these state troopers around,” Wyman said to some laughs.

She was referring to the fact that the state’s part-time lieutenant governors have state troopers assigned to them who function as drivers/security.

Some have questioned the need for the added expense, most recently when outgoing Lt. Gov. Michael Fedele of Stamford occupied the lieutenant governor’s office.
