Senate President Pro Tempore Donald E. Williams Jr. gets re-elected

Williams, D-Brooklyn, unanimously won another two-year term as top Senate dog. He has led the Senate since July 2004, after Kevin B. Sullivan moved up to lieutenant governor in the wake of the resignation of John Rowland. “It’s important that we put partisanship aside,” Williams said in his acceptance speech. “It will take sacrifice, ingenuity and targeted investments to turn our economy around.”
