President Pro-Tem announced the Chamber was at ease while  the senators could carry out their duty. Lt. Gov.-elect Nancy Wyman walked in to a standing ovation, along with Gov.-elect Dan Malloy.

Malloy swore her in, and she hugged and kissed the people sharing the stand.

“Your vision is exactly what our state needs to put us back on firm ground,” Wyman said to Malloy. “I was honored when you chose me as yoru running mate, even though he told me I chose him. I am honored ot stand here as your partner, as lt. gov. of the great state of Connecticut.”

Her welcome to “almost first lady” Kathy Malloy got a standing ovation.

Wyman gave special thanks to newly appointed OPM secretary Roy Occhiogrosso.

She asked chamber to join her in moment of silence for men and women who have served.

The Senate is charged this term with reforming the healthcare system, putting people to work, lowering energy costs and upgrading the state’s infrastructure, Wyman said.
