Malloys to keep a home in Stamford

Though the Malloys plan to sell their longtime home and move to the governor’s mansion, they will keep a house in Stamford, First Lady Cathy Malloy said. The couple currently owns a 120-year-old barn in the Shippan section of Stamford they moved into and renovated in the late 1990s.

“Our kids have friends in Stamford and I’m going to be working in Stamford,” she explained. “We’re definitely going to keep something in Stamford, but we’re moving because we really think it’s important to be residents of Hartford.”

Cathy said Gov. Malloy would be residing at the governor’s residence as of today. The couple stayed in the Hartford Marriott Downtown on inauguration night, as former Gov. M. Jodi Rell had only completed moving her things out of the governor’s mansion Wednesday. Unlike the Malloys, Rell chose to live in her Brookfield residence during her time in office.
