Himes to hold town hall meetings on deficit

U.S. Rep. Jim Himes, D-Greenwich, is planning to hold a series of town hall meetings later this month throughout the Fourth District to gather input from constituents on how to reform federal spending and reduce the deficit.

“Our country faces serious fiscal challenges that become more serious each and every day,” Himes said in a statement. “We must take a hard, honest look at our federal budget, and we must be prepared to make tough decisions on how to fundamentally change the way the government takes in and spends our money.”

Himes will hold the first meeting in Trumbull on March 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Madison Middle School. He will have two meetings on Saturday, March 26, the first at 1 p.m. at the Westport Library and the second at the Stamford campus of the University of Connecticut at 3:30 p.m.

The final meeting will be held on March 28 at the Ridgefield Community Center at 7 p.m.
