Your tweets: Should bin Laden photos be published?

We asked yesterday on Twitter what readers thought media organizations ought to do in the event that the White House releases photos of Osama bin Laden’s body, and got flooded with responses, a sampling of which is below:

@djstevem: @connpost they should post them online if you want to look you can. To do it in the paper doesnt leave you that choice.

@lisa197137: @StamAdvocate Do we really have a choice? With social media the way it is you are forced to see the pictures.

@starbaby1982 : @GreenwichTime I don’t think the photo’s should be released, it will only be for media spectacle. #binladen

@iamtavonn: Hell Yeah RT @StamAdvocate: Join the discussion … If the photos of bin Laden are released, do you think the media should print/post them?

@ThomasCain: Yes. Yes. Yes. RT @connpost If the photos of bin Laden are released, do you think the media should print/post them?

@kentick: @connpost mixed opinion on this. Is this a picture you would want a 4th grader see in school. I know tv and video games would show more.

@JuneBug26: @connpost No, I don’t think so. This is turning into a circus as it is. We ought to be praying bc Al Qaeda & Taliban are seeking vengeance.

@zeitgeisler: @connpost the photos will only distress people and will not be “proof” for the people who doubt what happened. so no, don’t print them.

@Fox4649: @connpost Yes, the News Media has a responsibility to report on the news, unbiased, unfiltered and unedited.
