Holly Sutton-Darr to run for Trumbull Town Council District 7 seat

The Trumbull Democratic Town Committee met Tuesday and nominated Holly Sutton-Darr to run for the Town Council’s 7th district. Former candidate Louis Bevilacqua announced in August he was resigning from the ticket.

Sutton-Darr has lived in Trumbull since 1994 with her husband Ron and two children. Her oldest child graduated from Trumbull High School in 2010 and her second child will graduate next year. Dar was a PTA board member from 1997 to 2005 and is currently volunteering in the district.

Sutton-Darr is an interior designer. She is a member of the Interior Design Society. She was a member of the Trumbull Business Network from 2003 to 2006 and is currently a member of the Rotary Club of Trumbull.

Sutton-Darr earned her BFA from Emerson College in Boston.

“She is going to be an outstanding candidate,” DTC member Tony Silber said. “She has deep roots in the community and we’re thrilled to have her on our ticket.”

The DTC also officially nominated John Lawlor, a Darien police officer and a member of the S.W.A.T. team to run for a Town Council District 1 seat on Tuesday.
