Secretary of State’s office says “no problem at polls”

Designees from the Secretary of State’s office, so far, have reported no problems at any of the polling places they’ve visited today.

“No problems whatsoever,” said Av Harris, spokesman for the Secretary of State’s office, which is overseeing balloting in today’s Democratic mayoral primary race.

“I just checked in with one of the people in the field and it’s been very quiet,” he said. He said designees will be going randomly to all polling places during the day and would not disrupt the voting.

He said they also plan to have designees on hand when absentee ballots are counted.

“We want to make sure everything is done in compliance with state election laws,” he said.
