Torres camp reaches out to voters – literally

BRIDGEPORT — If voters won’t come to you…
A man in a large white van – not to be confused with Rick Torres’ red campaign van – is driving around the 138th district reminding people that it’s Election Day.
Early indication is that turnout is light at the polls, which close at 8 p.m.
Through a loudspeaker the man can be heard talking about how Torres, the GOP candidate for mayor, would be the city’s first Latino mayor. Torres’ family is from Cuba. He is running in an effort to unseat incumbent Mayor Bill Finch. Also running is petitioning candidate Jeff Kohut.
