The Silly Season

And the good people of Connecticut thought its current crop of Senate candidates had a disdain for each other.

A mere four days before Democrats and Republicans whittle down the field of competitors for the coveted seat of retiring incumbent Joe Lieberman, the new Warner Brothers political comedy “The Campaign” will hit theaters Friday.

It’s the sophomoric tale of a four-term congressional incumbent played by Will Ferrell facing a rare challenge from a bumbling political rookie played by Zach Galifianakis, who rose to stardom for his role in “The Hangover.”

Both candidates suffer their fair share of gaffes as they pander to voters.

So who’s Connecticut’s answer to Ferrell and to Galifianakis?

Christopher Shays or Linda McMahon?

Or, perhaps is it Chris Murphy or Susan Bysiewicz?

We’ll let the voters decide.
