Bergen’s stock

So much for collecting unemployment.

Amanda Bergen, who served as the flack for Christopher Shays on his losing primary campaign for Senate, has made a soft landing.

The former television reporter-turned-Linda McMahon detractor is joining the press shop of Steve Obsitnik, the Republican challenger of Democratic incumbent Jim Himes in the 4th Congressional District.

“Working for Chris was a fantastic experience,” said Bergen, 38, who is married with a 5- and 6-year-old and lives in Ridgefield.

“It was an honor to work for such an intelligent thoughtful man. I’m, of course, disappointed that he didn’t win, but it’s a very natural transition for me to join the Obsitnik campaign.”
