Quinnipiac University Poll: big divide between Republicans and Democrats on role of government

This morning’s poll asked likely voters whether government “should do more to solve national problems,” or is government “doing too many things better left to businesses and individuals?” Thirty nine percent said it should do more, including 13 percent of Republicans, 65 percent of Democrats and 33 percent of independents. But 54 percent say it is doing too much, including 85 percent of Republicans, 25 percent of Democrats and 61 percent of independents.
