Westporters flocked to the polls Tuesday morning, a sign that local turnout for the presidential and state election will be high.
By 8:30 a.m., more than 500 voters had already cast a ballot at the Coleytown Middle School polling station, according to moderator Elliott Netherton.
“There was a long line when we opened at 6 a.m.,” he said. “I haven’t seen this many since some years ago.”
No problems were reported at any of the local polls by 9 a.m., according to the Town Clerk’s Office.
