Look at it this way..the fiscal cliff deal raises $620+ billion dollars in the form of higher taxes over 10 years ( while cutting a miniscule amount by comparison – the CBO has revised their estimate to a 10:1 tax/cut ratio -it is estimated to add almpst $4 trillion to the national debt over the next 10 years )… If you flat-line/average that, that’s $62 billion a year – about what the Sandy relief bill, bloated with all non-Sandy pork in it, totals. So we go thru all this drama over the fiscal cliff, and are now mad the new money wasn’t spent in the NEXT VOTE. Do you folks undestand WHY your country is going bankrupt ? There is anger that new money isn’t spent IMMEDIATELY ; meanwhile, annual deficits are over $1 trillion, and the ‘national bar tab’ is now over $16 trillion. Taxing the rich won’t solve the problem. If you’re going to spend like Europe ( which has chronic high unemployment ) you’re going to have to give ALL your money to the government, EVERYBODY, just like Europe – which is going nowhere. This is what you just voted for in November – congratulations !

Take up a vote on Sandy relief in January, and cut the pork out of it.

Cool your jets…the bill is up for vote in 2 pieces in early-to-mid January. I wonder why he wasn’t so angry that there’s a significant amount of ‘extra pork’ in the Senate bill that has little/nothing to do with “Sandy”. Politics are all about dishonesty !

Jim Himes likes to call himself a moderate bi-partisan member of Congress, yet here are the facts:

    1. Himes is a progressive and relies heavily on Bridgeport for votes. He ensures enough federal dollars flow into Bridgeport to gain votes.

    2. Himes is a follower, not a leader. He has very little influence in the House and members rarely rely on him for advice and/or to lead.

    3. Himes was speaking to an empty chamber. All of the members were gone for the day, yet you cannot see that based on how C-SPAN cameras are positioned.

Time for a Democrat of all the district, instead of a Democrat simply there for Bridgeport.
