Tom Foley and Mike Fedele must have short memories.

Three years removed from their bitter primary for the GOP’s gubernatorial nomination, Foley is scheduled to host a fundraiser at his midcountry Greenwich home tonight for Fedele’s mayoral candidacy in neighboring Stamford.

The suggested donation is $500 per person, according to a copy of the invitation obtained by Hearst Connecticut Newspapers, which lists former Senate candidate Linda McMahon and her wrestling impresario husband Vince McMahon on the host committee.

You’ll recall that Fedele initially backed former GOP Congressman Christopher Shays in the 2012 GOP Senate primary won by McMahon.

Talk about a family squabble.

In 2010, Foley edged Fedele in a bruising primary in which Fedele’s campaign ran ads accusing Foley of destroying a Georgia textile firm purchased by his investment company.

Fedele said Foley laid off thousands of workers and urged voters to not “Let Tom Foley do this to Connecticut.”

Foley said he had relinquished control of the company long before the layoffs occurred.

Foley went on to lose the general election to Democrat Dannel P. Malloy, the longtime Stamford mayor, by 6,500 votes.

U.S. ambassador to Ireland under President George W. Bush, Foley plans to challenge Malloy next year for governor, an office believed to be on Fedele’s radar before he ultimately chose to run for mayor.
