Voters! There are municipal elections coming up. Read this to become at least partially informed.

Secretary of the State Denise Merrill today posted the ballots for viewing and urged the more than 2,000,000 registered voters in the state to visit the agency’s website, www.sots.ct.gov

Click on “Elections and Voting.” The direct link to the town ballots is http://www.sots.ct.gov/sots/cwp/view.asp?a=3179&Q=533410&PM=1.

Those voters who vote by phone system should contact local voter registrars to preview ballots and practice the system prior to Election Day.

“I want to remind the voters of Connecticut that Election Day is around the corner in your town or city, so now is the time to find out with what offices and candidates are on the ballot,” Merrill said in a statement.  “Many important decisions concerning town budgets and schools are going to be made in your community based on who wins the elections on November 5th.  I urge every voter in Connecticut to visit our website, see who is running, and familiarize yourself with the ballot you will be using on Election Day.  Voters can check their registration status online and find where their polling place is by visiting www.sots.ct.gov. Voter registration deadlines are also approaching: eligible citizens who wish to register by mail must do so by Tuesday October 22nd and the final deadline to register in-person for the municipal election is Tuesday October 29, 2013.”
