Linda McMahon hobnobbed with investing maven Warren Buffett at Fortune magazine’s Most Powerful Women summit last week in Washington, D.C.
She could have used his advice in 2012 and 2010.
Twice thwarted in her bid to become a U.S. senator from Connecticut, the former chief executive of the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) posted a photo of herself with Berkshire Hathaway honcho on her Facebook page.
“Totally blown away by Glenn Close singing at the Fortune MPW, but I was even more blown away when Warren Buffett not only accompanied her on his ukulele but harmonized as well!” McMahon wrote. “Very cool!”
Joining McMahon at the Oct. 15-17 event was her daughter, Stephanie McMahon Levesque, who participated in a mentoring session for high school juniors and seniors who are the daughters of members of the military.
There was no shortage of star power at the confab, where speakers included Chelsea Clinton, Chelsea Handler, Arianna Huffington, Elena Kagan, Jessica Alba and Tory Burch.
McMahon, 65, is very much keeping up appearances after coming out on the wrong end of the fourth- and fifth-most expensive Senate races in U.S. history.
Her Facebook page is filled photos of McMahon at GOP events both in Connecticut and elsewhere, where she is typically flanked by an aide who also handles media inquiries. She and her husband, Vince McMahon, have contributed $20,000 this calendar year to the state Republican Party.
While McMahon has categorically denied she is eying public office, one theory is McMahon could be angling for the assignment of the Republican National Committee woman from Connecticut, a post currently held by Pat Longo. McMahon’s loyalists say she is merely try to be helpful to pro-business and Republican causes, while staying active.
Conservative firebrand Ann Coulter is not one of them. The New Canaanite recently told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that McMahon should have saved her money that she spent running for the Senate.
