Tracking Malloy

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy could always say he got stuck in traffic on I-95 — wink, wink.

The Connecticut Democrats were still undecided as of 6 p.m. Tuesday whether Malloy will squeeze a Stamford homecoming into his Election Night itinerary, which they said includes stops in New Haven and Waterbury.

A hotly-contested race for mayor — a job Malloy held from 1995 to 2009 — pits Democrat David Martin against former GOP Lt. Gov. Mike Fedele.

To the chagrin of the Democratic City Committee, which endorsed Martin, Malloy backed state Rep. William Tong during the primary. He later threw his support to Martin, who prevailed in the party skirmish.

The Republicans, who have been in power for the past four years, did not have a primary.

Malloy made stops in Southbury, Hamden, Middletown, New Britain and Manchester — shown on the map above — earlier in the day.
