State Rep. Livvy Floren, R-149th District, the elder stateswoman of Greenwich’s all-GOP delegation to the General Assembly, is ready to pass the baton.

In an appearance on WGCH-AM 1490, the flagship radio station of Greenwich, Floren revealed Wednesday that she will not seek an eighth term this fall.

Floren, 71, represents western, midcountry and backcountry Greenwich, as well as North Stamford and Stamford’s Westover Road corridor. She serves on the State Bond Commission the General Assembly’s Select Committee on Aging.

A resident of Greenwich for four decades who is married with four children, Floren previously served on the Board of Estimate and Taxation, as well as the Representative Town Meeting.

Selectman Drew Marzullo, a Democrat, lauded Floren for her service and friendly demeanor.

“I have known Livvy and her family for literately 25 years,” Marzullo told Greenwich Time. “She is always one of the first people to call me with words of encouragement and kindness. Her generosity, dedication to public service and love for this town is palpable. That, combined with her true sense of bipartisanship, makes her a rare find. I for one will miss her greatly. And I am going to miss walking with her in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. We had so much fun.”
