Trumbull’s Herbst, at GOP convention, says he’s qualified for public financing for his state treasurer candidacy

UNCASVILLE –Trumbull First Selectman Tim Herbst, in the Mohegan Sun Casino, just said in an interview that he’s poised to take the GOP nomination for State Treasurer. “We’re very cautiously optimistic. We feel good. We’ve worked hard. We’ve worked the delegates. We have been to over 70 town committees since thee start of the campaign. I have personally called anywhere from 800-to-900 delegates. We have spoken to them or left messages. We’ve left it all on the field.” Herbst, in an interview, said he has collected the $75,000 in contributions of $100 or less needed to qualify for public financing.
