Connecticut’s largest city is hardly an incubator for Reaganomics.

But don’t tell that to members of the Bridgeport’s Republican Town Committee, who landed CNBC contributor Larry Kudlow as their keynote speaker for their belated Lincoln Day fundraising dinner Saturday night.

The 66-year-old Redding resident recently signed off from his long-running program, “The Kudlow Report.”

Kudlow, an associate director for economics and planning in the Office of Management and Budget under President Ronald Reagan and former economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, has been making the rounds on the speaking circuit.

Earlier this month, Kudlow appeared at the New York State Republican convention in Rye Brook, N.Y.

Former Bridgeport Mayor Mary Moran will be honored with the RTC’s lifetime achievement award at the dinner, which is typically scheduled well after Lincoln Day to help attract top speakers and will be held at the Holiday Inn. Tickets are $75 per person.

A lion’s den for Republicans, Bridgeport sent the second-most delegates of any city in Connecticut to this month’s state Democratic convention.

The Park City has played a major role in a eight-year drought for Republicans running for statewide office and Congress.
