Bacchiochi cuts loose a consultant for racially insensitive remarks. Foley paid consultant a lot more.

State Rep. Penny Bacchiochi of Stafford, one of three Republicans vying for the lieutenant governor primary August 12, has terminated Regina Roundtree, a consultant who referred to another primary candidate, Heather Bond Somers of Groton as an entitled white person. According to the State Elections Enforcement Commission, Bacchiochi made three payments to Roundtree this year totaling $645.16.  But Tom Foley, the GOP’s front-running gubernatorial candidate, has paid Roundtree and her Cogent Consulting LLC $7,210 this year, according to SEEC records. Chris Cooper, Foley’s spokesman: “Regina is a consultant to the campaign for urban outreach.”
