TMI in an I-95 backup? David Walker joins the miffed masses.

Joining legions of miffed drivers, McKinney’s lieutenant governor running mate, David Walker of Bridgeport, admitted to violating state law against texting and driving late Wednesday during a Twitter exchange with state Democrats.

“Sitting at a dead stop on I-95 in #CT at 10 p.m.,” said Walker, whose Twitter handle is @DeficitRanger, to 4,844 followers. “It’s time to fire #Malloy! DW” The occasion was a construction-related backup.

Even if traffic was frozen, state law bans texting and using a hand-held cell phone, while sitting in the driver’s seat on a street or highway with the engine running.

“The only thing you’ve been honest about is violating #CT’s hands-free law!” Connecticut Democrats tweeted back.
