Finch reacts to election results

BRIDGEPORT – Mayor Bill Finch issued the following statement late Tuesday on election results that saw him go three for four in his picks advancing. In the fourth, the 22nd Senate District race between Anthony Musto and Marilyn Moore, Finch was still saying it had yet to be called even after Musto conceded and Moore declared victory.

Here is some of what he had to say:

“It’s a banner night for our state’s largest city. In Bridgeport, our mission is to create jobs for today while preparing our kids for the jobs of tomorrow. Our city is making great strides on this front.

“Steelepointe Harbor – a mixed-use development that once complete will house thousands of jobs and serve as a significant boon to our tax base – breaks ground on its flagship store, Bass Pro, this year. A second train station that will serve as an economic boon for East Bridgeport is moving forward. And, more kids in Bridgeport now have access to the high-quality early childhood education they deserve, which will help prepare them to one day attend college and compete for 21st century jobs.”
