Republican Governors’ ad hits Malloy in the pocketbook

Tom Foley’s supporters are on a first-name basis, in a new video ad attacking Gov. Dan Malloy’s 2010 tax hikes, which were part of an effort to bridge the $3.4 billion deficit her inherited from Republican Gov. Jodi Rell and the Democratic majorities in the House and Senate. The 30-second spot released today features a variety of testimonials, all from various residents whose last names have been omitted. Grow Connecticut, the sponsor, is an attack vehicle for the Republican Governors Association, which is backing the Greenwich businessman’s effort to defeat the Democratic governor.
