First Selectman Tim Herbst of Trumbull confirms that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will be in Trumbull on Monday. “Gov. Christie is coming to Trumbull in support of Tom Foley (left of Christie in photo), Heather Somers and the Republican team,” said Herbst, who is running for State Treasurer. “It will be a tremendous honor to have Gov. Christie in Trumbull next week and I look forward to attending the event and joining many others in welcoming him back to our state.” Christie’s third-time-is-a-charm visit may, coincidentally, take off some of the luster from President Barack Obama’s scheduled Tuesday fund-raising appearance in Greenwich for state Democrats.
