Angry birds: Foley gets cursed at by man in chicken suit

NEW CANAAN — Even Connecticut’s last venerable GOP holdout isn’t above giving a Republican candidate the bird.

Tom Foley found that out Friday morning while campaigning in New Canaan, where the second-time candidate for governor was harangued by a man in a chicken suit at the South Avenue Mobil station on Halloween.

“F—ing politician f—-ts,” the unidentified man hollered at Foley when the candidate tried to say hello inside the gas station’s convenience store.

“What did he say, politicians?” Foley asked members of his entourage, which included First Selectman Robert Mallozzi III.

Told of the extent of the man’s remarks, Foley said to reporters, “Did you get that quote?”

While Foley has been heckled from time to time by Democratic operatives in chicken suits on the campaign trail, this chicken appeared to be of the organic and free-range variety and was not affiliated with the opposition.

The man, appearing hungover as he climbed back into his Jeep Wrangler, continued to tar and feather Foley.

“Get a real f—ing job, dude,” the man said.

Foley laughed off the isolated incident.

“It’s weird to be in New Canaan getting yelled at by a guy in a chicken suit like you’re the weird one,” Foley was overheard saying.

New Canaan is the only town or city in Connecticut where the majority of registered voters are Republicans.
