Hartford Mayor responds to polling issues

HARTFORD  – Mayor Pedro E. Segarra released a statement Tuesday on the issues that delayed some early morning voters in the Hartford area.

“What happened this morning is inexcusable. While today is about providing everyone the opportunity to cast his or her vote, in the coming days we will be reviewing exactly what happened. Those who are responsible will be held accountable. In the meantime, I support Governor Malloy’s actions in bringing forth a lawsuit to keep our polls open for an additional hour.

“All voting locations in the City of Hartford are up and running. Any resident of the capital city who wants to vote can do so today.”

Tom Foley is trying to block extended voting in the City and even President Barack Obama called into a local radio station in the state as a result.
