The head of Connecticut’s Democratic machine leveled claims of voter disenfranchisement against her GOP counterpart and Republican gubernatorial challenger Tom Foley just hours before the polls were scheduled to close Tuesday.

Nancy DiNardo, the state party chairwoman, was responding to comments by GOP boss Jerry Labriola Jr. inferring that the Democrats were up to mischief in Hartford by asking a state Superior Court judge to keep the polls open for an additional hour to provide relief for people who waited on long lines this morning because of missing voter rosters.

“If this were Greenwich, Tom Foley and Jerry Labriola would be up in arms arguing that we keep those locations open,” DiNardo told Hearst Connecticut Media. “This is what you get from Jerry, blatant attempts to disenfranchise voters.”
