Malloy in no rush to endorse Hillary

LAST NAME OF SUBJECT HERE

Hillary Clinton, seen in this 2006 file photo when she was a member of the U.S. Senate, is flanked by then-Stamford Mayor and current Gov. Dannel P. Malloy at a fundraiser for Diane Farrell for Congress.

Hillary Clinton’s other half campaigned for Dan Malloy.

So did Joe Biden, who has long been rumored to have presidential aspirations.

Then you have former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, who is deliberating on his own bid for the presidency and has close ties to Connecticut’s chief executive through the Democratic Governors Association.

So what’s Malloy, the chairman-in-waiting of the DGA, to do when asked if he’s endorsing Hillary for 2016? Hedge.

Malloy adviser and spokesman Mark Bergman issued the following statement Tuesday to Hearst Connecticut Media:

“The governor believes that Secretary Clinton has an outstanding record of leadership as first lady, senator and as secretary of the state because she has spent her whole career fighting for everyday Americans. He was proud to stand with her campaign in 2008 and looks forward to hearing from Secretary Clinton about her candidacy in 2016.”
