Are you looking for a property here in Fairfield County where you can keep your helicopter? If you’ve been on the hunt, you may know it’s almost impossible, due to regulations that prohibit landing choppers on residential property. But at this New Canaan mansion, you can bend the rules a bit since part of the lawn falls over the border in Pound Ridge, N.Y., according to the real estate website Curbed.com.

Of course, life in a beautiful New Canaan estate is about more than just grass-topped helipads. According to the listing, by real estate agent Nicole Steel, “the home has been perfectly maintained and exudes classic elegance with 9 foot ceilings, 4 fireplaces and spaces for entertaining. The sprawling interior offers over 7,000 SF of living space and 6 en-suite bedrooms. The finished basement allows space for a gym, wine cellar and movie theatre.”

We spoke with Steel over the phone this afternoon, who added that the house, built in 1998, is only five minutes from town.

“It’s a very beautiful piece of property, which cannot be fully appreciated until you’re at a party there at night,” Steel said.

Take a peek:

Priced at $3.7 million, the house is one of 60 properties in New Canaan listed at or above $3 million as of today, according to Zillow.

And the real estate website shows that it’s the fourth largest lot for sale in town right now, behind the 52-acre Huguette Clark estate, which is on the market for $15.9 million, a 14.9 acre property on Smith Ridge Road priced at $3.25 million and “The Dana House,” which sits on 8.99 acres and is on the market for $5.5 million, according to Zillow.
