Here in Fairfield County, we have a lot of houses with long, interesting histories. But there’s only one house listed so far in 2014 that claims roots all the way back to 1740.

The home, at 587 Haviland Road in Stamford, was listed for $849,500 just last week, and boasts “a rare blend of period details, modern updates and open flow,” according to the listing. At 274 years old, this home in older than the nation itself, but it’s not the only old home with a new listing in the area.

We rounded up a few homes built within 100 years of this “North Stamford gem” so you could take a peek at the pieces of history up on the market today.
