On Monday morning, at roughly 12:40 a.m, police were dispatched to 24 Division Street on reports from a father who had left his two children at his home thereat in the care of their mother, Jesenia Munoz, 31, had returned hours later to find them alone. The father, the reporting party, was worried that Munoz may have gone off to take a walk and ended up falling asleep somewhere.
Police put out a broadcast in case Munoz was out walking and searched the home, with no results. Investigators left the premises after the failed search, only to be contacted again by the reporting party with news that Munoz had been found, passed out under a bed. When awoken, police noted that Munoz was “intoxicated, disoriented, belligerent, and clearly unable to care for the children,” according to police reports.
Police charged Munoz with two counts of risk of injury to a minor and she was arrested. Munoz eventually posted her $200 bond and was released with a scheduled court date of October 28.
